Preparatory Programs:
If you are enrolling in a preparatory piano or voice program, choose your preferred lesson times on the registration form. TMS forms groups according to age, level and availability. If you are flexible with lesson times, please be sure to note that on your form. The more flexibility in your schedule, the faster we’re able to place your child in our program.

Tamminga Music runs annually and consists of our school year program (two semesters: fall (August-December) and spring (January-May) and summer program (semester: June-July). Some beginning group classes are offered in sessions and are noted with specific session dates in the course offering.

Tuition: Full tuition or payment arrangements must be made before student starts in our program. Tuition will be prorated for students who register after classes/lessons begin. Piano program and private lessons begin August 15. Other class start dates are listed in the online course offering. TMS accepts year-round enrollment.

Withdrawal/Cancellation Policy: If, for some reason, you need to withdraw from our program before lessons/classes begin, simply submit a written request. Full tuition credit will be placed on your studio account to be used within 6 months. Credit expires at the 6 month mark so be sure not to forget! If you choose to receive a refund, full tuition minus a $50 withdrawal fee will be processed.

Refund Policy: After lessons/classes begin, we abide by a no refund policy.

Attendance: Students have a set lesson time each week. Tardiness will result in a shortened lesson time.

Communication: Email is the quickest way to communicate with us and our method of communication with you. Newsletters, studio updates and announcements will be sent via email so it is important you provide an email

Payment Plan: Many families choose to pay annual/semester tuition in full but we do provide a convenient monthly payment plan for those who need it. To enroll in the monthly payment plan, a credit card is required on file for automatic payments. If on the payment plan, tuition is due by the 1st of each month (even if you/your child is not at lessons that week). There is a grace period to the 5th and a $30 late fee for payments received after the 5th. Please note: Although TMS offers a payment plan, our program is not a month-to-month program. If monthly payments are chosen, you are committing to pay full tuition in equal monthly installments, as stated below.

Make Up Policy: No refunds or credit will be given for missed lessons. Students receive one make up class each semester for emergency situations. Notice must be emailed at least 24 hours before the lesson. Although this policy is in place, we try to be as flexible as we can. Any student (who has given us at least 7 days notice) can be placed on our make up list. There is no guarantee that we can provide a make up, but many times, we are able to accommodate make up requests for vacations or important school functions. No make up will be given for no shows and last minute cancellations. Per our refund policy, there are no refunds/credits for missed lessons.

Inclement Weather: In the event of inclement weather, check out the website (home page) to see if lessons/classes are cancelled before you head out. If there is no notice posted on the website, please plan on the regular schedule. If we must cancel lessons/classes, a make up class will be scheduled.
